The following Nature Preserves are the property of the Haddam Land Trust, Inc.  and are listed in order of acquisition.

Unless otherwise noted, the public is invited to use our Nature Preserves, especially the marked trails at the Saraceno, Nedobity, and Bamforth Preserves.

Please help us to keep these preserves in their natural condition by avoiding littering, starting fires, overnight camping, and use of wheeled vehicles.

Please do not trespass on adjacent property.

DICKINSON NATURE PRESERVE -  8 acres  Donated by Shirley Dickinson in 1967.  This landlocked preserve is located between Route 9 and Cedar Lake Road in Haddam.

CARPENTER NATURE PRESERVE -  2 acres Donated by Gertrude Carpenter in 1970.  Located on Meetinghouse Road in Haddam.

CRAIG NATURE PRESERVE - 4 acres Donated by Alice Craig in 1971.  Located on Route 154 just north of the first intersection with Walkley Hill Road.

BOYNTON NATURE PRESERVE - 15 acres Donated by Theda Boynton in 1972 in memory of her son, Peter Boynton.  This landlocked preserve may be accessed via right-of-way from Jacoby Road in Higganum.

SCHULTE NATURE PRESERVE - 6 acres Donated by Alyce and Robert Schulte in 1974.  Located on Mario Drive in Higganum.

FERGUSON NATURE PRESERVE - 1 acre Donated by William and Lynette Ferguson in 1981.  Located on Foot Hills Road in Higganum.

HIDDEN LAKE NATURE PRESERVE - 8 acres Donated by Hidden Lake Properties in 1981.  Located on Hidden Lake Road in Higganum, just south of the lake.

ERN NATURE PRESERVE - 12 acres Donated by Richard and Frances Ern in 1982.  This landlocked preserve is located near Valley Ridge Road in Higganum.

SARACENO NATURE PRESERVE - 15 acres Donated by Nicholas Saraceno in 1982. Located on Route 154 in Tylerville.

FENWOOD NATURE PRESERVE - 7 acres Donated by Charles and Albertine Pytlik in 1986. Located on Old Ponsett Road in Haddam.

MYERS NATURE PRESERVE  - 13 acres (containing 3 parcels) 1st two parcels donated by Robert Myers 3rd Parcel donated by David Koskoff.  The nearest road to this landlocked preserve in Haddam Neck is Clarkhurst Road.

GLASS NATURE PRESERVE - 2 acres. Donated by Richard Glass in 1997. This landlocked preserve is located between Jail Hill and Gulf Quarry Roads in Haddam.

NEDOBITY NATURE PRESERVE - 36.4 acres Donated by William Nedobity: 17.8 acres donated in 1997 and 18.6 acres bequeathed in 2000.  Located on Nedobity Road in Higganum.

BURR NATURE PRESERVE - 11 acres Donated by Burr and Caminati Partnership n 2001.  Located near Morris Hubbard Road in Higganum.

FENWOOD EXTENSION PRESERVE-  11 acres Donated by Donald Provence in 2003.  Access from Fenwood Preserve or from Walkley Hill Road.

PINE BROOK PRESERVE - 21.4 acres Donated by Carol Flaim and Andrew Karwowski in 2003. Located on Pine Brook Road in Haddam Neck.

LAROSA PRESERVE - .75 acres Donated by the Larosa Family in 2003. Located at the junction of Pine Brook Road and Route 151 in Haddam Neck.

PONSET RIDGE PRESERVE - 135 acres Donated by Ponset Ridge LLC in 2004.  Access from frontage on Bartman Road in Higganum.

BAMFORTH WILDLIFE PRESERVE  - 33 acres Donated by Jean Bamforth in 2004 in memory of her parents, Harry and Marion Bamforth, and her sister, Betty Jane Bamforth, MD.  Located on Bamforth Road in Haddam. DOGS MUST BE LEASHED.

MARGARET CLARK PRESERVE -  4.3 acres Donated by Margaret Clark in 2006.  Located on the Connecticut River in Haddam Neck.

WASHBURN HILL PRESERVE  50.75 acres Donated by MJM Land Development in 2006.  Located on Route 81 adjacent to Burr School..

Cabral Easement  -  Easement of 13.9 acres donated by Linda Cabral in 1991; NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Wensinger Easement - Easement of 83 acres donated by Jerry Wensinger in 2008; NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
