BEAVER LEDGES TRAIL OPENING and WALK
From the parking area to the trailhead is about .3 miles over a graveled Ruth Hill Rd. From the trailhead to the beaver pond is another .5 mile on the new trail. The trail crosses two streams with footbridges and a gradual hilly area and possible rocky and wet areas. The program should last 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Dress for the woods and the weather. Rain Date: Sunday, September 26, same time.
Directions: Traveling south on Saybrook Road just past the route 82 connector ramp, turn right on to Dudley Clark Rd. Take a right on to Old Chester Rd. Old Chester Road becomes Ruth Hill Rd. Follow until you reach the highway overpass. Park beyond the overpass. Walk the dirt road to the trailhead (.3 miles).

CONNECTICUT RIVER PADDLE
Canoes and kayaks welcome!
We will leave the boat launch at Haddam Meadows at 5:30 pm. Please have your boat in the water by 5:15 pm. Bring along some campfire food. Weather allowing, we should have an easy, short paddle. Life jackets are mandatory and must be worn. Bring a whistle and flashlight if you can.
