Bamforth Wildlife Preserve
The Bamforth Wildlife Preserve was donated by Jean Bamforth in 2004 in memory of parents, Harry and Marion Bamforth, and her sister, Betty Jane Bamforth, MD.
This 33 acre preserve lies between Bamforth and Hayden Hill Roads in Haddam. The field is mowed and will be managed to promote ground-nesting bird habitat. Extensive land management practices, including control burns and planting of warm season grasses, have occurred over the past few years. It is critical that dogs remain leashed in order to not disturb the ground-nesting bird populations.
Nate Clark put in a trail in 2004 as part of his Eagle Scout project.
